COMPETITION ENGINEERING FABRICATED MILD STEEL 9" REAR AXLE HSG 60.75"L MOC9200
These one-piece rear axle housings from Competition Engineering are CAD-designed and CNC-machined to be stronger and lighter than other styles. Their triangulated design provides the structural integrity required for racing. Made from chromoly or mild steel, the outer shell is 1/8 in. thick, and the faceplate is 1/4 in. thick. Configured for a 9 in. Ford, the housings come in either full-bodied car style, with cut-to-length 3 in. O.D. x .250 in. wall axle tubes, or dragster style, with big Ford forged housing ends aligned with the center section. The full style has an overall width of 60.75 in., the dragster style is 27.6 in. wide, and the faceplate accepts 3/8 in. studs. A drain plug, filler plug, and breather bung are included.

Strange housing ends are machined from forged steel. These premium grade housing ends are ideal for new or narrowed housings, permitting an optimal mounting surface. Strange ends are designed to be easily butt welded.

Has your stock 9" case or aftermarket big cap" case with 5/8" cap bolts failed? The Strange 9" nodular iron case is the solution- hopefully before the failure costs you a lot of money. Strange nodular cases are machined from D-4512 nodular iron which is 8% stronger than the nodular which is found in OEM cases. The 8% material strength is only a small portion of the total strength increase a Strange case offers.
For additional strength the case features:
Chrome-Moly bearing caps retained by socket head cap screws that exceed aircraft grade 8 specifications
Steel adjuster nuts
The pinion pilot bearing has been reinforced with superior D-4512 nodular and additional material
All bolt holes are deep tapped and cast with additional material surrounding the OD of the holes
Bearing bores and reinforcing ribs are all cast with additional material in critical areas
Ribs were carefully designed to further enhance rigidity
Spot faced stud holes prevent lubricant leaks and damaged mounting surfaces.
Strange nodular cases are virtually indestructible therefore the iron case is recommended for any vehicle which accepts a 9" housing and a 9" gear set.
